Mar. 22nd, 2021 12:16 pmI ordered the young ones´ Easter presents today. Normally I´d drive into town and pick up the little gadgets our daughters-in-law see suitable for their offspring. No, I have no qualms to ask them for advice. I do not have the gift of clairvoyance, hence I cannot tell if my grandchildren already possess what I want to bestow upon them. My grand-daughters are awesome (at least most of the time). They know that parents are responsible for essential goods, and that grandparents bring sweets and toys (and take care of the more expensive essentials). But this time I would have had to drive to three different shops to get all the presents, in a town with next to no parking space, so I did the unthinkable and ordered from Amazon. All of It! Four presents, one package, one delivery day, and I did not even have to put myself at risk of catching a cold in that dratted weather outside. Snow, rain, snow, rain, even more rain...seems days of winter are numbered now, yoo-hoo, but I could have done with less water from above! Our chancellor would have a coronary if he knew how many of his underlings already go against his order to shop in local stores only. Sorry, Basti, in case you do not know already, many of the shops we would have needed for Easter shopping went bankrupt, because you and your troop of "wise" men inflicted a seemingly endless quarantine upon all of us which brought nothing, save that we now have to order from exactly the online mail order company you told us to give it a wide berth. So very sorry, mister chancellor, I won´t do it again!
