What´s a laundry basket for?
May. 10th, 2021 06:11 pmHannelore lived in a big garden with a huge pond in it. One day she decided to do something bold: she left her familiar surroundings to see more of the world. At midday she had been seen bathing in the sun, shortly after she was gone. Soon people were looking for tiny Hannelore, but she did not reappear, not in the evening, nor the next morning.
Next morning it was was when I decided to brew a cup of coffee instead of continuing the search of my glasses. Brewing coffee I´d do blind if necessary. With coffee in hand I did a look out of the kitchen window. Not much to see without glasses, save that a little something I could not identify was moving along our garden wall. And there she was- Hannelore, safe and sound and searching for a way back home. I picked her up and put her in my laundry basket then called a friend who lived in the house with the big garden and the huge pond, not even knowing that little Hannelore had been living there for two years now. My friend came with a bottle of prosecco to drink to Hannelore´s retrieval. Now the gardener will have to put a fence around the pond so that she won´t be able to escape again.

It has beeen a lazy day for all of us here. We are not yet used to summerly temperatures. It was 31 degrees today. Even though the pool is ready for bathing neither hubby nor me did put a toe into the ice cold water, proof that spring has been way too cold until now. I will have to turn the aircon on in the evening or forget about proper sleep. I´msad glad that the hot weather will be history come tomorrow!
