Jun. 17th, 2021 08:08 pmGot my second dose of Moderna today. After that I did a visit to the pharmacy to get sunscreen for my face plus a trip to the drugstore. Then came the highlight of the day- I met with a friend in a coffee shop for iced coffee Austrian way and cake. Last time I did so was late October. My friend was a bit too much concerned about my health regarding vaccination and told me that she had not felt well, having a sore arm and slightly elevated temperature during night after she had gotten her second jab. That was the moment when I almost dropped my spoon because my brain did a somersault. Wait, did she really get up during night to take her temperature? Only to see if it was elevated, though she was fine otherwise? Like many women of her age she is very interested in having serious problems with her health. Good news from the doctor aren´t good news at all. Friend´s handbag is crammed full of pill bottles and dietary supplement. Conversation will mostly involve blood pressure, bone density, excess weight and healthy food. While I have to cope with all of it I would never declare those pests of old age to the main topic of conversation. Health is of importance to everyone, but there are more things to talk about than the dosage of blood thinner. And wild horses could not drag me out of my cosy bed to check my temperature when all I had was a sore arm, which I have already. That´s why I will end my entry now and be off to the pool. It´s still hot outside, over 30, and a swim in the cool water will do me some good! And since hubby will watch soccer I will retreat to the bedroom early to do a bit of reading the new books. I have given a box of books to hubby so that he´d bring it to the next book (call) box. He did so without complaining. The trouble is that he came back with new, interesting ones he had found there...
