Birthday stunner

Tomorrow is Xaver´s third birthday. He wished for a really big fire truck he had seen in a toy shop. No problem, hubby has bought it already. I am not so sure if Xaver´s mother will be pleased to have such a thing in the house, because "the thing" can squirt water if filled. Not that Xaver is able yet to put water in the tank, but Oscar can, and will do so...Number one arranged a family party for his second born via Whatsapp. We confirmed that we would come together with aumt Lil. An hour later number two confirmed also. Another hour later: We will be there, too. Wait a minute! That´s number three, the one who lives in Lower Austria. He surely will not drive two and a half hour to attend the party then go back the same day, which means he will need our guestroom. Guestroom currently is crammed full with number five´s belongings. I feel a headache coming on. Seems that auntie Lil and I will spend this evening sorting out clothing, groceries and other things. That surely was not on today´s agenda, because until an hour ago we had to take care of Cassian. I am dead on my feet. Grandson has just discovered the nice feeling of a dry nappy. We are on our way to the loo every quarter of an hour. It figures that he had his epiphany on a day when his mother had put him into a pretty but very uncomfortable pair of trousers which needs nimble fingers to get the little one out of it. Plus she forgot to put a practical one into Cassian´s rucksack. Since the cool weather has made it into the house I cannot let the little one ran in nappies only. I have the feeling that I better buy some additional equipment for the young man that will stay in the house.
For a long time I thought that good old Europe would never see the days of tornados, until I saw a report about tornados, albeit smaller ones, being quite common here if the weather situation is right. All you need is thunderstorms, big ones if possible. Supercells are the recipe for disaster, and supercells we had aplenty those last days. No wonder that one day there´d be a big one. My father would have been delighted. Each time he went to the States he was hoping to be able to see one, but nope...That´s what you get when relatives live in the wrong federal state! But thinking that there´d be more of them now, and maybe here, too, makes me a more than a bit uneasy about the status of the climate!
