I took a picture of what they said it was a prunus triloba. People in the gardening shop are proficient as regards plants. I am no more sure about that anymore, because of such a proficient worker I now have an apple tree in my garden instead of the plum tree I wanted. It had come straight from the nursery. I am not sure which plant I bought when I requested a prunus triloba. Those fruits are strange. I put some aside and will take a picture of the pit inside tomorrow. Besides, prunus triloba is supposed to have pink flowers. Mine have white flowers and look by far not as opulent as the supposed ones. And then there are the fruits, which aren´t meant to appear at all after flowering...

The hydrangeas are starting to bloom. Huzzah! Finally! Almost one month late! In the backside of the picture you can see our neighbour´s rambling rose. It spreads over half of the back of their house, sheltered by a shed and a bush, and its blooming is spectacular.

This has been the place where Hannelore must have spent her first absence, in a time when there were tadpoles aplenty, just the sort of nourishment turtles like to feed on. Now tadpoles have turned into tiny toads which love to drown in our pool. Biotope is a safe albeit tiny place for amphibians, yet the hazel bush in the front will have to come off.
My friend picked me up this morning to do a first trip over the German border. No one wanted to see our immunisation cards. No one got into a fret because we did not wear our masks inside the car, though we do not live in the same household. The day before Google told me that in Bavaria you have to wear a FFP2 mask in the parking lot outside the shops, so we did as demanded, although it seems that hysteria got the better of us. It was fun, I spent way too much money on things I will not need any time soon, and I did not do any cooking today because I made use of the take-out of the Turkish retaurant nearby. Then we had banana bread and coffee, before I unpacked my bags and retreated to the bedroom for a short nap. Shopping is indeed strenuous!
