I have turned into one massive tinsel angel, and that is how it came to be: I like my friend, I really like her. She´s witty, she´s funny, shopping and cooking together, going to the cinema- all fine. But there´s one thing you should not plan with her, and that´s crafting. Yet it is crafting she loves, and crafting with popsicle sticks she loves even more. She has two grandchildren who must have done it in kindergarten, that´s why she gifted me some packages in hope we´d do the crafting together, like I can what they can. Or maybe not. Problem is that she´s a brooder, like, which side of the stick may be best to paint (I had told her, both need colour). Then she picks a stick between her fingers and paints either with the smallest brush (not very effective but harmless) or with a real big one (and makes a mess all over the table). Plus she is a very slow painter, always contemplating if the paint will stick or not and repainting and contemplating again- during the time she painted one of the tiny sledges I did two, plus three stars, even though I had decorated two more barn doors first. I do not care about dirty fingers. There´s water aplenty in the tape. My friend also cannot decide upon colours, that´s why I have a few stars the colour of Schleich unicorns (unicorns might flee in shock when seeing the result), because she thought she´d use all six colours on the same star. So when we craft I serve prosecco, which makes her loosen up a bit while I quickly do most of the crafting. Yesterday my stock of prosecco had run dry. I served coffee with cookies, but I swear on the loosening effect that alcohol has on her. Coffeine works the other way round, she gets antsy. So yesterday I quickly decorated some of the stars I had glued the day before by using golden powder, while at the same time my friend decided that she´d try out the blower to make the woodglue harden more quickly.I wish she had told me! Wow! She managed to turn the blower on the moment I was not so carefully spreading golden glitter all over the stars. And she blew right in my direction. The effect was dramatic- no glitter on the stars, no more glitter on the table, but I was glittering all over. I took a shower, washed my hair, changed my clothes, but the moment I sit down and move my head there´s more of the glitter coming down from hair and face. I wonder how long it will take to get rid of that nuisance!
Since Monday we are in a lockdown for the unvaccinated, which might turn into a full one sooner or later. Those unvaccinated ones in our neighbourhood would have been found all over the town had someone looked for them. Especially the one who has no official income save a minimum pension has been seen at a flea market, working at a family with four children, at Kik (this she told me, because she was so proud at having been able to dupe the staff meant to control the Green Pass). There´s surely more places one could have caught her if people were interested in catching tricksters, and that´s why this partial lockdown will be of no avail. The only good thing I heard today was that I can applicate for the Covid booster two months earlier...
