Kaputt-or ´the more the merrier´
Nov. 20th, 2021 07:44 pmHubby had bought three T-bone steaks, way too much for a family of three. Hubby loves to buy meat, though he is the one who eats greens mostly. We thought about giving one of the steaks to son number two, who might love it. In the morning, during breakfast, hubby´s mobile reported that it had gotten a message. Message was that number two was coming for lunch- hubby had invited him when I was in bed already. So two and a half person more to cook for- this is where the fun starts! Flavius does not yet count, he is still on a milk diet. I quickly did cake (found some apples and plums in the fridge) for coffee. And the moment cake was out of the oven I got a message from my niece that she and sister dearest would be at our house within an hour. Er, what? Where did those two come from? They weren´t supposed to come at all! No one had warned me this would happen- instant indignation followed by resignation! Hubby browned the steaks, put them in the oven, we quickly sliced sweet potatos, did two dips, and then they were here, all of them. From too much meat to barely enough it's only a small step. So good that I am no steak lover (want my meat done) and Cassian prefers greens, in this case orange vegetables- he managed to pick out all the carrots. Sister, who barely does meat at home, fell into a meat frenzy, while I was on a sweet potato diet and loved it. Then rest, have cake and coffee, a glass of prosecco, and just when I thought that this had not been a bad day at all, my guests were literally leaving in flocks. Even number four, always in a bad mood as of late but very good at helping out with cleaning, was off one day early. Maybe he suffers from family life overdose. Hubby took him to the train station, I loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the livingroom from toys, put the freshly washed sheets on the bed and decided to spend what´s left of the day on the bed, watching Youtube, writing LJ entry and generally mourning for the missed opportunity of a last Christmas shopping before lockdown will start. Hey, Jeff, I think I will be one of the many who will make you even more wealthier than you already are!
