Nose is still running, so I stayed at home for another day on the sofa with knitting in front of the TV. Wind made me find out that hubby had only unplugged the Christmas lights on the balcony but had not removed the blinking icicles. They were jingling quite nicely but loud also, which does not add to a sound sleep. So I went out and cut them off the balcony railing and put them into bags. Might be that I caught another sneeze or a matching cough maybe, because it took longer than I had thought, and putting on a jacket was not an option for me. Now the balcony is fit for winter. Better late than never...
The rest of the morning I spent sitting in front of the TV knitting. The funny thing when you have cable TV is that advertising seems to be always the same. Sell your car with xxx, buy an e-car instead, vegan cosmetics, interesting products for bladder weakness and menstruation (who would not want to know about such exciting topics) and a two-minute commercial to add zest to vaccination (oh the horror- sappy and not at all convincing). All this three times in a row. And you never know when commercials will strike. I almost missed that it had begun to snow heavily then and I´d better take the snow shovel and clean the parking lot, before the snowplough driver might think that no one is at home, and blocked the driveway- again. He does so quite often, and it´s no fun to have to shovel packed snow off the area. Unfortunately I missed the first British Alpine World Cup win because of shovelling. I so would have loved to hear our sports reporters squirm behind their microphones, because our skiers did not make it onto the winner´s platform- again! Congratulations to Dave Ryding! Well done!
Hubby has a theory: The neighbour who is said to have had Covid might have not gotten tested positive at all but has bought a recovery attestation, to not have to undergo vaccination for at least half a year. No one would be so bold and be on the road when tested positive. There are lots of monitoring bodies going fom household to household, but there´s a lot of fake attestations going around in our country, too. Not a day without another scandal made public! And it´s not even very expensive to get a fake attestation. Neighbour does not have much money (at least not officially), but her son has. And he is anti-vaxxer, too. This one has paid about 10000 Euro (though we did not have Euro then) to not have to return to basic military service- and this happened more than twenty years ago! He did not even land in military prison as is customary, he simply went home and never went back to the barracks...
