Each time Cassian is with us he goes shopping with his grandfather. Both love shopping very much! Krapfen, cookies, it´s okay when he gets these things now and then. Then there´s the missing trousers and sweaters you will need when a child comes to a childfree household, which is a bit more expensive to buy. Today it was a woom bicycle helmet with magnetic clasp- modern parents are no more able to clasp a helmet without pinching their children´s skin, hence the fear of helmets. Elsa got one for her third birthday, and Cassian got one in advance (he´ll turn three at the last day of May)- he needs it for his adventures with the balance bike in the toddler fun park- it´s indeed one for young children on their special bikes, but 70 euro is a hefty price for a simple helmet with magnetic clasp! Now Cassian and his helmet are on their way home, and I have my PC back. I am sleep-deprived, and it´s not because Cassian has disturbed my night´s rest. It´s hubby´s fault, who thinks that a) all windows have to be covered with heavy curtains, so that the child will sleep longer b) TV and PC have to be taken off power, their red lights might wake the boy c)all windows have to be closed, because there are cars to hear from the outside. I can live with a) and b), but c) is ridiculous! Bedroom and studio are pitchdark, the air would be stale if I wouldn´t leave one bedroom window ajar, only a tiny bit, which hubby remedies the moment he comes to bed. After my tour de loo I will silently open it again- to find hubby get up soon after and close it again. It´s a battle of wills, and he always wins, because his side of the bed is next to the window. Next time Cassian does an overnight stay he and hubby can sleep in the guestroom. It´s cool there, it´s dark there, it´s more quiet- what more could one want? wiseheart, only now I found your comment, where you asked me what a Reindling is. It´s sweet yeast dough rolled flat to a square, brushed with (lots of) butter then strewn with sugar mixed with cinnamon and raisins. Roll in the dough and put it into a tube pan or a pot (reindling means pot) Tastes even better if you mix the sugar with grounded walnuts, that´s why you will need even more butter! You eat it with ham for Easter...
