Perceptions...

A view at the shelves with hair shampoo told me a few things. First, there´s still no shortage of products. Secondly, there´s less special buy now. Where once at least five products had been on sale, there´s been only two brands today. Thirdly, the private brands (cheaper than branded articles) have all vanished from the shelves and got replaced by organic shampoos. Or vegan shampoos. Or organic vegan shampoos. Any way, they are way pricier than the other shampoos. Same phenomenon happened in the drugstore department. Cheap brands gone, expensive ones more expensive now but still available. With cat food it was the other way round- cheap brands´ prices got raised, but the funniest things happened with a brand Vaire cats deigns to feed, if she feels like it. It was on sale at a local pet store for 1,19 a sachet instead of 1,29. People ran and bought whole boxes. I did not buy it, definitely not. Today it was 60 cents at the store I was with my friend. Of course, I bought some sachets, but not excessively so. Lady Vaire does not feed much wet food but prefers kibble...
I bought a whole load of knitting yarn today, enough for the two cardigans for Elsa and Cassian for the cool season, and one for future baby Mattheo? Matthäus? Mattheus? Matheus? The last one will be the first- baby is due at the beginning of June but might do a jump start, at least DiL thinks so. She thought the same with Elsa- that girl came two weeks later than calculated!
A strange thing happened in the shop today. I was sweating my way along the rows of shelves, when all of a sudden the strap of my mask tore off- I grinned then and put that darn thing into a nearby dustbin and continued shopping, without mask now. My friend collapsed in hysterics! No masks? God help us, we will all die! Almost no one in Germany wears a mask anymore. Only in our country masks have still to be worn in so many places, and on terms that will make you tap your forehead then put up with an expensive trip over the border to our neighboured country. I can assure you, you will pay more for fuel but save money with the buying...
