Plotting potting

I brought hubby and Cassian to the train station in the morning. The two wanted to do a train ride to Ikea and eat lunch at their restaurant, while I intended to finally get rid of the weaker tomato plants and repot the strong ones only. I was at home for about five minutes, when one of our neighbours showed up for a cup of coffee. It was two of it, and she left more than one hour later, after having brought me up to date on what has been going on in the neighbourhood the last weeks- it´s not that I am interested in gossip, but she is, very much so! This interlude forced me out into the garden later than I wanted- at eleven we were already up to 26 degrees, too hot for my taste, but I did my job! Afterwards I watered the vegetable plants, applied fungicide to the cornel- quince and Japanese maple are doing well this year, cornel not so much. Then I went back into the house, to do some cooking and a nap maybe, at least I planned so. But hubby, who originally wanted to take the bus home from the train station, decided that taking the bus with a sleeping child was too much an effort, and asked me to pick him up. Back home it was grandma and grandson only. Understandable, even my husband, who is a sportive person, cannot keep up with an energetic toddler all day long. So hubby was resting, while I was doing jigsaws and reading books and eating dried mango. Cassian loves dried mango, as well as papaya. That boy definitely has an exquisite sense of taste! Grandchild is back home now, and I am waiting for the thunderstorm promised by the weather forecast. Otherwise all my labour will count for nothing- I brought the vegetable plants to the shelter, because they said there was storm and hail to come!
