Daughter is arachnophobic, with this I am with her, I am also very wary about spiders. The really small ones I might catch in a glass and bring them outside, but for the biger ones- instant death, before I get a heart attack! But daughter is equally afraid of all insects, be it bees, wasps and grasshoppers even. Today she announced that she´d take a shower in the bathroom downstairs. Good that I had a look, if shampoo and conditioner were still there (I took some of those items to the upper, way bigger bathroom). Oh my, I think letting her into the bath might have ended in a veritable ruckus. Apparently this year grasshoppers did reproduce overproportional. I found quite a lot of them in the shower stall, jumping merrily from wall to wall. How they got into the room I do not know, the window was tilted from morning on, but it´s a tiny one, not even oriented towards a meadow. I closed it then hunted the little buggers. Now this was fun, with grasshoppers whizzing back and forth, until I got them all. For good measiure I went outside and had a look at the wall from outside. The back wall of the house was- green- hundreds of grasshoppers hoping to get a sightseeing tour of our bathroom. I do not even want to know what would have happened if they´d made their way into the house during Lil´s showering. We might be in need of a new glass sliding door and some tiles...
Now that the afternoon is almost over, weather has turned sunny and warm, just the way it should have been all day long. Nothing to see of the predicted heat wave. I am not happy about living at the wrong side of the country, the one which always has moderate temperatures and too much rain...
About pinching tomatos- you can do this only when the plants have been properly watered. This is usually done by hubby, who unfortunately forgot about the task two days in a row. I watered the vegetables and will try anew tomorrow. Instaed of garden work I did some knitting and have one third of the forefront ready now. And daughter did jigsaw with me (finally!!!). It´s about time to get this one finished!
