Sep. 7th, 2022 07:45 pmWhile I was googling on the terrace for a replacement for the pillowcase, which is not available at our Ikea shop, a quite unpopular neighbour came for a short visit (and to get the obligatory coffee you have to offer her, because otherwise she´ll be mad at you, and that´s never good). That´s standard procedure for her- ring the doorbell, waltz in, have coffee then go back home. It´s not that I dislike visits- but there are nicer neighbours here, at least in our street. But what if said neighbour has shamelessly gone through the content of a plastic bag placed outside for disposal and shows you a small bird cage you want to get rid of and she wants to have? Of course, you can´t never tell no to her, because that´s a word she has not yet got the meaning of, and it´s rude to give her a no anyway. While I pondered how to tell her that bags for disposal are exactly what they are meant for, and that she is to keep her fingers off them, she started to munch my grapes. Please mind that my old grapevine has produced only one single bunch of grapes this year, and I intended to eat it myself. So that was the moment when I got up, tore the grapes off and carried them to the kitchen- grapes saved. The look on neighbour´s face was priceless! There´s a whole row of grapevines next to our garden fence, all loaden with grapes, but no, she wants to eat mine. No, thanks, I had the grapes in the afternoon together with hubby, a cookie and more coffee. And I give a sh.. if neighbour feels offended!
Otherwise there´s not much to report about today. The weather was way better than foretold, storm and rain are postponed to tomorrow. Hubby did repair work on son´s house until lunch time, I did Wurstnudeln Korean style, then hubby and I had another swim. I was too lazy (and too fond of the warm weather) to drive to Germany and get cat food for Lady Vaire (who feels better already, though I fear this might end up in the same disaster as with Lord Namo), I did not knit because I have to unravel three rows- again. And I need more red wool, because I decided to knit the lining. I think it looks and warms better this way!
Btw, I just found out that the pillow case is available at Ikea-Graz. Since hubby will go there with our number four next week, he might (or might not) get one. I will start cross stitching in November at the earliest, with Cassian as a valiant helper. He loves to play with the toy house while I stitch next to him, and he likes to survey my progress. There´ll be no Santa on the pillow this time, or the war between the daughters-in-law might be on again. Romania- Santa. Austria- Christkind. Me- don´t care. Christmas is not about Santa or Christkind. Oh dear!
