The sun vanished behind the hills- at 5.15. From now on it´s 20 minitues earlier the week, and better not talk about the return to standard time! That will raise our electricity bill considerably. You can either sit in the dark and twiddle thumbs or switch on the lights, your TV or whatever you like- but always bring blankets, to lessen heating costs. There´s no day when you won´t find handy tips to save energy and keep your body moving, to save gas... I think I´m fed up with dailies spreading hysteria!
Hubby and I did a lot of shopping for number four´s new flat. Just small items like lamps, curtains, frying pans- but even buying only small items costs a lot these days!
Weather forecast told us fine weather for today, but when we left for the furniture shop, it started to drizzle. Sun came out at three, and it was fun to see all our neighbours dashing out of the house, to use their pools for a last swim. We did, too, but the water gets on the cold side now. Tomorrow there should be thunderstorms, and worse, strong winds. There´s a lot of things that need to get dragged down into the cellar :( And then we´ll have typical autumn weather with temperatures around 16 degrees and lots of rain. Funny that September always turns out too cool here! Maybe it´s a hint, because our school kids have to realise, that the serious side of life is on again. At least this year summer holiday weather was not as wayward as usual- though statistics say, that it has been way warmer as usual in the east of our country, warmer than usual in the west, and we in between got a summer with quite normal temperatures, we only had less rain, which I appreciate very much.
In husband´s old place of work they have quite a lot of cases of covid. Fun thing is, that most of the members of the orchestra are vaccinated four times. I dare say I will wait for a better vaccine. Here they are still trying to shoo people to the mass vaccination sites, to get rid of the huge amount of vaccines they bought (either politicians knew about the ridiculously low efficiency of the vaccines or were simply dumb). New ones will be available at the end of October. Though I think that what they call new vaccines is an old hat in the United states, where they have the real good stuff!
