Cooking spree!
Oct. 7th, 2022 06:42 pm Doing krautwickler is a tedious affair. Doing it the way I do is even more complicated ( I wrap them in bacon then brown them in a pan before putting them in the oven). And then came hubby... he appeared with a knuckle of pork he found in the shop (he loves this part of the pig, while I do not) which needed processing today, since I will be off tomorrow and won´t return before early afternoon, to take care of our grandchildren. I swear, one sneezer done by Cassian, and I am off again! Needless to say that we had lunch in the afternoon, and that I did manage only a few rows of knitting. Plus the potatoes I boiled did not soften. Turned out that once again husband mine had managed to buy the wrong variety (I use waxy ones for salad only). Good thing is that I will not have to cook for the weekend. Burgers (mincemeat left from the krautwickler), krautwickler, roasted knuckle of pork, hard potatoes will be enough for a family of four (we are two! for the whole weekend, and then there´s also the invitation to Flavius´s birthday party- oh dear, more dishes and cake to eat!
Since it´s daughter´s early morning shift tomorrow, I will pick her up at her friend´s college at nine (student opening party), go to bed early and hope, that the new coughing syrup will finally do some good. That´s by far the most unnerving cough I had for a long time!
