I felt like stitching
Nov. 3rd, 2022 05:07 pmThough far from being finished with the cardigan for Cassian, I thought that stitching might be a great idea. Well, it wasn´t. Stitching is a pain in the a.. when you are having a cough, a real hard one. I spent half an hour under the light of my reading light and did one tiny boot of a tiny Christmas dwarf. But that was enough to give me a headache of epic proportions, so I quit and did a bit of dozing. Then I went down into the cellar, to look for wood paint I had used last year. Unfortunately dearest husband mine has disposed of all paint. I am in no position to complain, because it had been me who had been angry about the many paint tins. Okay, he could have looked at the expiry date, but that definitely would have been too much of an effort. So I will have to set off tomorrow, to buy new paint and jute yarn for the centre of the stars my friend and I will do. Yes, hubby has used up all my yarn for the salami he is doing. And yes again, my friend and I will craft again for Christmas, but the painting job will get done, before she arrives. And I will definitely hide all sorts of glitter this year. There´s still some left on the table surface. No matter how often I try, it won´t go away, and I will not sand the table off, because an elderly lady cannot handle the glittery stuff!
Hubby just told me that son number four will show up tomorrow for a short visit. And I wondered, why the washing machine was running for the third time this day! Family number three had been using number four´s room when at our house. Our guestroom is not big enough for four, so they split- two downstairs, two upstairs. Now we only have to wait, until son´s favourite bedding is out of the dryer!
Today I disposed of the last two chilli plants after harvesting what was still on the bushes. Meanwhile hubby had returned from being at sister´s flat, monitoring the workers there. Sister was not able to show up, she has covid, even though being vaccinated four times already. Back home hubby did toast and salad for lunch then went into the garden, to make a makeshift shelter for the palm trees and olive trees. It won´t get frosty, but very cool and, what´s worse, very wet. Which reminds me that I have to drag the lemon trees onto the terrace, where they will be protected from cold, wind and rain, at least as long as temperatures won´t drop below zero, because in this case they will have to spend the rest of autumn and winter in the conservatory. I so love my garden in late autumn- work, work, and even more work, though I have to admit that a lot of it gets done by my husband! The mere thought of all those big, ugly spiders seeking shelter around the house, especially in those trees soon going into the house, makes my skin crawl!
