I forgot about early shift

 My friend and I had agreed on a last shopping trip to Germany on Saturday. This morning I realised that Saturday I´d probably be too tired after having to get up at three in the morning, and miraculously we both were able to do our trip two days early. At ten we were off, and we are very glad now that we did not wait for the weekend to shop- it was incredible how crowded the shopping centre was at eleven in the morning (pensioners mostly, but still), and there´d surely be way more people on Saturday! Once again some of our favoured products were not available. And home brands got replaced by expensive ones. This trick is now also done by so-called discounters, which grants those decent pin money... But all things considered we had a lot of fun, we got most of the things we had had on our shopping list, and we even had coffee afterwards. Hubby got his lunch from the Turkish restaurant, friend and I had more coffee at home together with my selfmade cookies. And then she left, and I fell facedown onto my bed and slept for almost an hour, until husband woke me, because DiL had asked if she might bring Cassian and Flavius for an hour or two, so that she´d be able to pick up the presents she had ordered. Understandable and fine with me and hubby, the two are very uncomplicated youngsters, only the content of the cookie box suffered from greedy little hands- two pair of them! Their favourite is Nussstangerl- soft and sweet and sticky...
Grandchildren are off now, the living room is a mess no more, and hubby is already studying the TV programme. What will this man do after the football final on Sunday and next to no crime thrillers playing due to Christmas time?
BTW, I was a bad, bad wife today- bought a new chain of lights for the tree with the baubles. Now that all of the pretty snow is gone tree needs some amping up. How will hubby survive the electricity bill, with one LED chain added to the meagre rest...
