We had another dark day with lots of rain and strong winds, which started in the late afternoon. I am not fond of days, on which the lights have to be on all dsy long! More decluttering got done in the morning, though I have to admit that I am not very persistent in this field. Besides, the moment I start working on a cupbord, hubby starts working on the same one. Nope, it's either him or me...
Not much work got done on the cooking front- I only added Frankfurter aka Wiener Würstchen to yesterday's leftover soup. As long as this is fine with hubby, it's okay...
Number two gifted me two Tolkien- based books for Christmas, while daughter bought me the new Tolkien calendar- I feel truly pampered! Now imagine- when my niece saw those books, she had the gall to ask me if she could buy them - from me! Sorry, young lady, but if you want them for your boyfriend, go ask Amazon, they sell the English edition!
In the afternoon I baked a cake! Me! Cake! But there were so many leftovers from Christmas baking and cooking in fridge and in boxes- raisins, cranberries, oranges and different sorts of nuts- that I needed to get rid of those in an elegant way. It worked, tomorrow we will have a Goodbye- Christmas cake, with a tiny lucky charm in it- the one who gets it has to load the dishwasher. I hope you did not think that we'd do the King-for-one-day game, we are a practical household, and I am pretty sure that I will be the lucky winner. There are not that many competitors in the game, only hubby, daughter and an ex-student of mine. Trust me, fortune always smiles upon me when it comes to loading the dishwasher...
