Krautified
Jan. 26th, 2023 06:19 pm Whole house smells of kraut, because I am one of those who won´t discard a still useable piece of vegetable, even though I won´t tolerate its effects on me, when it shows up in a meal. White cabbage is hard to exterminate, mine has been in the bowl for greens at least two weeks, probably longer, but unfortunately it did not die. Even more unfortunate for me was that hubby found it and wanted pasta with ham and cabbage then. I now have a stinky house thanks to the non-existent extractor fan and problems with my digestive system for the rest of the week. But as long husband is happy, it´s okay (for him).
I got up early today, because the birds have started their yearly competition ´who´s the loudest of us´. We had a short period around seven in the morning, when I and the birds wrongly thought that this day might finally turn into a sunny one, and that must have spurred the little noisemakers- a foretaste of what is to come at the end of February, when morning will come upon us way earlier and louder! Do a good deed each day, I thought, and dragged my elks and gnomes into the cellar, before hubby felt compelled to do so. Easy-peasy, because husband mine was still asleep at that moment. But then Amazon delivered a parcel (well, the deliverer placed it in front of the door, which stayed closed- I was not yet dressed for the day, because it was 7:30 in the morning and all I wanted was a breakfast and a shower afterwards, and no new filter for the coffee brewer! All that ruckus had woken hubby, and he showed up for breakfast. Please, do not tell me that I should be glad he did. For breakfast I have put up some rules: Don´t look at me, don´t talk to me. And do not put your dailies onto my half of the table. I need some time to wake up and get going, otherwise I will be grumpy for a long, long time. Well, husband mine does constantly break all those rules. Must be his morning pastime...
We had to shop for a birthday present for our oldest grandson today. No clothes, no electronic gadgets (I think he has the best equipment possible already), so maybe something essential. Yay, hubby found it, and because it was him who found it, he even paid for it- usually it´s me who pays for extras, while he does the essentials. Do you want to know what hubby bought? It´s a robotic hand. Very essential, indeed! We will have a small birthday celebration with only a few family members on Saturday, because Oscar decided that tidying up the house with his help was well beyond his capacity for suffering. So a cafe it will be, one with a children´s play corner, naturally. Otherwise Xaver might put an end to the cafe´s business. As of late, the boy has specialised in smashing dishes, lots of them. We will see how it goes! If I won´t be online on Saturday, we all might have been arrested due to bringing a potential weapon into a coffee house!
