Farewell, Lady Vaire

 No only good things come in threes: When waking up in the morning I was no more able to move my right thumb. No clue what I did during night, but only touching the base of this finger hurt like hell. I slathered it with Voltadol then got up, had a look out of the bathroom window and noticed that the strong winds we had had during night had brought snow- not much, but enough to dampen the spring fever in me. Who needs snow when you want flowers and bees and... Downstairs in the kitchen Vaire cat sat, staring intently into her water bowl then started to barf- and fell face ahead into the water. I quickly picked her up, but that´s when I knew that we had to let our cat go. She now rests next to her brother in our garden. The last of the Deadly Three is gone now, and we miss her terribly already...
Needless to say that absolutely nothing of importance got done today save for a bit of working on the jigsaw for distraction. Number five and especially number four took the death of their beloved cat hard- Vaire has been with us for almost 18 years. It will take some time to conceive that we are a pet-free household from now on. No more dogs, all cats gone with Tux, Nienna, Namo and Vaire over the rainbow bridge and Samsung and Sony with number two now. If I add all the days we did not have a pet of any sort in the house, I will come up with half a year maybe- in all the 45 years I am married. It feels so strange to me...

I fear that I will have to alter my profile image now! None of the cats in the picture is with me anymore!
