Ups and downs
Mar. 16th, 2023 06:08 pm Just after daughter had left, her godmother came to liften my mood. We sat until midnight and killed a bottle of wine while talking about the good old days. Getting up in the morning brought my sombre mood back, and when I had to clear out Vaire's bowl of kibbles I had a mental meltdown. It's the first time in 22 years that there's not a single pet in the house to snuggle, and I so loved snuggling- when napping, in front of the TV... Cats are such a blessing!
DiL brought her offspring at lunchtime, and the rest of the afternoon was mostly chasing after the boys. Cassian alone is easy to handle, same goes for Flavius- but if together you have a deadly duo in the house. Our dishwasher can tell you a thing or two about it. The oven, too. At five they got fetched by their mother, and I finally was able to have a cup of coffee. Late for coffee, I know, but I definitely needed this moment of peace! THen hubby was off with my car to collect an exercise bike for number two. Meanwhile I had a long videocall with number three and family. Apparently this week was for saying goodbye to family's pets- good old Rocky, DiL's pet of old, has also been put down. Not that I did like the dog that much, because he was a in a bad mood most days, but he, too, has been a beloved pet to the family for many years. In human years he made it to 95. Vaire made it to 88 years only...
In April I will have to do a trip to number three, to have a christening interview with the mimister- the same who did Elsa´s christening. The one who intended to use the phrase Nachstellung des Teufels (stalking of the devil). Only that he said Nacktstellung des Teufels (nude posture of the same), which led to outbreaks of hilarity among the church goers. I think that the minister never got told about his lapse- his German was not yet perfect at that time!
