Quiet day???
Apr. 10th, 2023 04:34 pm I spent most of the morning doing daily chores in the household like cooking and tidying, while hubby did the dusting and vacuuming. It´s always amazing to see how quickly dust multiplies in the space of two days, even though we had a thorough Easter cleaning on Saturday- you definitely do not want dust and other things under sofas, when the next day your grandchildren might hunt for hidden Easter eggs down there! For lunch I decided on a meal made from leftovers- I need free space in the fridge, especially because on Tuesday after Easter a lot of food will be sold at discount prices! And then it came- the dreaded call of a former neighbour, the one who is widowed for some time now. She has no driving license, but she has four sons. There´s always one who will take on the burden of bringing her to her friends, mostly on days after a church holiday. But it gets even better: After I had accepted ex-neighbour's self-invitation, hubby returned from having brought daughter to her flat, so that she'd be able to get to the train to Vienna in time- the girls (four of them, fast friends since they met in school more than ten years ago) will have a big party there, a late celebration of their birthdays. Hubby told me that we were to meet DiL number two and her Romanian family at the local brewing house. No, thanks, in this case I will prefer the neighbour, and hubby may meet up with our Romanian relatives. I definitely won't show up with eyes as red and running as mine still are. Former neighbour showed up the moment hubby and I had finished lunch. And she brought the neighbour who always loves to show up at our doorstep with her. Great, just great! Hubby prepared a Brettljause before he left. It's seven in the evening, Brettljause has been eaten, and my guests are off now. I think I need a glass of wine. At least I am in possession of a Kärntner Reindling now, which I will have to eat all by myself, because hubby does not eat raisins...
