Bye-bye, Easter eggs!
Apr. 11th, 2023 07:24 pm Easter egg hunt of the strange sort: While hubby and I were having lunch and debated on wheter to go or not to go to DiL for coffee and cake (we decided on no, because I am not presentable yet) I heard a strange swoosh from outside, and all of a sudden one of my plastic Easter eggs rolled across the lawn. Then came another one and soon after the next one... When the plastic wrappings of my winter tyres followed, hubby dashed outside to save them from getting blown into neighbour´s garden. If anyone would have warned us of strong winds we would have put things back inside the house. Well, the eggs from the garden are in the house now and boxed for next year. Only when I brought the box into the cellar I realised that I had never taken a picture of the egg-decorated apple tree! So we had a veritable gale for about half an hour, with rain coming down horizontally accompanied by Easter eggs and the white flowers of the mirabelle plum tree. Looked like snow blowing across the garden! Talking of snow flakes- winter will not give up easily this year. After a Wednesday with comfortable temperatures we might see a few snowflakes on Thursday and Friday. Elsa should better pack warm clothes into her suitcase, when she shows up for a visit on Friday, to finally pick the bike up which Easter bunny delivered to the wrong address! Granddad so wants to teach her how to bike! BtW, it was so much fun when she ranted about Easter bunny´s mistake during our phone call on Sunday!
Since we did not meet up with DiL´s father today, we will do a short visit tomorrow evening, because on Thursday they will be off to France for a Romanian Easter with DiL´s brother. Or go back home, I do not know. It´s a bit chaotic with them! Tomorrow they want to tour to Vienna in the early morning and be back around seven PM. I wonder if they will do a Vienna hop on hop off bus tour, with next to no hopping off, then go back home immediately- it´s a three-hour drive from here to the capital! We´ll see...
