May. 10th, 2023 04:50 pm It was raining hard all morning, but at twelve we got a bit of sunshine, not that long, but still! Hubby picked Cassian up at kindergarten, brought him to our house, fed him some Leberkäse and a pretzel stick then was off to his former colleague, who should get a new terrace today, concrete truck and pump involved. When they arrived colleague was phoning the company- neither workers nor concrete truck had shown up, only her garden was full of lumber. Cassian was so very disappointed, did not even want to play with the cats or the dog (too wild anyway). In compensation hubby brought him to Smyths Toys. Cassian has a new toy car now and has to wait for another opportunity to see a concrete truck in action. Tomorrow he will be with us again for an overnight stay. Hubby volunteered to do lunch (American burgers, I hope he won´t forget to buy ketchup and pickles). I volunteered to bring Cassian to bed- last time I almost fell asleep before him. Blessedly the boy knows the way to his bed and how to tuck himself up. The only thing I have to remind myself is turn turn the power of my PC off. Otherwise Cassian will see the red eyes of a monster (outlet strip) under my desk. No one needs a monster next to the bed!
After endless years of misery my husband finally found a way to circumvent the dreaded European Song Contest- he arranged a meeting with his siblings, and I am to accompany him. Honestly, I do not want to. It´s a family of Jehova´s Witnesses, and we are to stay with hubby´s brother, the worst of the bunch. Frustrated, because he was not able to bring his sons into the community- they moved out, had sex, had a child and soon another one without being married- he will try to convince us of the only true religion for the rest of the evening. He always does, and there´s not even a TV to ignore his religious rants! I am miffed, not only a bit, but very much so! I have enjoyed Song Contest with my older children, listening to radio commentation done by two comedians while watching the spectacle on TV- not only once the muscles of my belly did ache from all that laughing! I had friends over or daughter or both- but I did not miss a single Song Contest- until now :((
