Bored

 

So hubby had arranged this meeting with his siblings I had to attend, too. What I did not know was that he also had a meeting with some of his old schoolmates- and promptly left me with his sister, fortunately the one who is not that bad. She is the only one who comes for a visit now and then, and she never talks about religion. But sitting in front of the TV with a huge piece of cake, waiting for husband mine, was not what I had in mind for the afternoon. I am pretty sure no one wants to know why I am not so interested in my husband´s family, but I will tell you anyway: After my father had died, mum decided to live in their house in the country rather than in the flat in town. And she wanted to live there alone, with me aiding her with the household. Then one day my hubby´s brother-in-law showed up. Then his sister. Then their oldest daughter and her husband. All of them telling her about how wonderful Jehova was. And some time later that surely he would want her to give her belongings to the church- their church. They are all Jehova´s witnesses. My mother told them that she now knew the way this sect (it was a sect then) got the money from and that they should better go, before she called me and husband mine to hear what they had to say. I was livid. Hubby was, too, but only because he thought that mum had misunderstood them. But they got caught in the act by sister mine. Needless to say that I do not have much to say to this branch of the family. The brother we did visit today only wants to convert you. Bothersome, but one can bear him. For a few hours at least...
Now we are on our way home. We have to pick up the pizza hubby ordered for dinner, then it´s 40 more minutes until we will be home. Daughter mine has made a cosy place for the two of us in the studio. Not as cosy as in prior years, but it will have to do. Iced tea, tortilla chips, pizza and quite a few misbegotten songs will surely give me a sleep disturbed by stomachache!
