May. 12th, 2023 07:16 pm I got woken by my grandson's whispered ranting at five in the morning. Okay, bedroom window was open, and outside the birds were having a heyday- no rain, not too cold, and lots of light, best used for making noise singing. The loudest were the craws- and Cassian hates craws. Or better, fears them. Those birds are aggressive, not only at this time of the year, when it's breading season. Reminds me of the Australian magpies- maybe craws are a tad less aggressive, but definitely bigger. At the moment they do their flight manoeuvres, if one gets too close to the big fir trees in neighbour's garden. But Cassian loves our garden and does not need big black birds almost running him down, when he is out! But how should a crow know that there's a fence between us and their hatch! Cassian ended up in my bed, so no sleep after half past five. After so many years I still do not know how hubby does it- if there´s a slight noise, he jumps awake. But he can sleep, when Cassian chatters along or neighbour does some extra loud activities early in the morning!
We had another Day of the Screeching Chainsaws today. Half of the little wood next to the main street is no more. Not a hunch why those trees had to go, they all seemed healthy, but maybe they are planning to do a new fixing of the slope. With all that rain some important might have remembered that we need more measures against landslides!
There´s a chance that I´ll be able to watch Song Contest, and that´s because daughter announced her coming for tomorrow evening. Now overnight stay at hubby´s brother might be prevented. Hubby even thought of picking up a pizza for daughter when driving home. I really do hope that he won´t change his mind! Bad enough that we will have to leave so early in the morning, but having to spend an evening with permanent dicsussions about religion? No, thank you! But thank you very much, daughter dearest! You might have saved my evening!
