Thank you, daughter mine

 Daughter mine decided that she wanted to come with us to Matthäus´s first birthday party. Only that the three days son had suggested would not have worked- she has early shifts. Son was glad, too, because he wanted us to meet DiL´s family, who is supposed to come the week after. Good, very good indeed- deadline of the cardigan got extended, one week more to knit! I rewarded myself by helping hubby instead of beating myself up with fuzzy wool and runny eyes.

Hubby worked very hard today to get our pool in shape. Water has now reached the critical line where the pump can get turned on without running dry. Not so happy about it, because now the target ´no pool pump before June´ won´t hold. But the well did well this year and provided more water than in prior years, and this morning we got water aplenty from above during a huge thunderstorm. There might be even more rain water coming down during night, which might put us into the funny situation that we have to pump some water out before pool pump is on. Hubby also managed to cut the new tarp to size in a quite daring way- he spread it out on the lawn just when we got severe weather alert with storm warning- and it was huge, but they did not sell it in smaller sizes. Never before have I seen hubby work so fast- cutting got done in record time, then we both fastened the securing straps and winded the tarp onto the wind-up device. Last thing we did when it was pouring already, but we made it! Salt is in, gadgets are in- now we have time aplenty to search for summer. Seems that one very warm day did definitely not ring summer in. Oh well, we are used to such freak weather! At the moment it gets darker and darker outside- luckily hubby is already back from his daily shopping tour done by bike- damn, I missed that I ordered loo rolls! I should have taken a picture- hubby and his bike and a bulk pack toilet paper!
