...that is my ball of wool. Yesterday, whilst waiting for the frogly heldentenor to join the evening concert, I decided that doing some more rows on Elsa´s cardigan couldn´t hurt. I sat on the couch and estimated how far the blue-turquoise part would last and carefully took that well-wound and completely untouched part off- and found that it led straight back into the innards of that dratted ball from hell. Now enlighten me, please, how this can be possible! Inside the ball I found the two little balls from my fight two days earlier. So how can this thread lead back to the place I never wanted to visit again until the day the ball of wool was used up? Needless to say that I was no more interested in the frog but spent more than one hour dissecting this wool bomb. First off: no thread locatable which I could use to wind the wool from the outside. So I pulled out the huge tangle that was the ball´s innards and began to divide into the needed colour fractions- bluish to bluish and pink to pink. Needed to do so anyway, because I do not want one blue and one pink sleeve and have to estimate if I have to buy more complementary wool. I found countless fuzzes, knots of the kind you only get if you have at least one free end, and almost as many knots done to join two threads. The machine doing this ball of wool must have been on drugs or has a mental problem triggered by the choice of colours. But both front parts and one third of the back part of the cardigan are finished, and I can be lazy during weekend, when Cassian and Flavius will keep us occupied Friday/Saturday. And number four will come for a visit. It does not really get better next week- hubby has already mentioned that there might be another day with our grandchildren looming ahead, plus he has a meeting with a plumber at son´s house on Thursday. Son wants his dad to listen to the suggestions he has for the renovation of their second bathroom. We are in a fine mess now- when I inherited the house, I had renovatited two of the three bathrooms, one of the two in a good shape. Now the basement with this bathroom is rented, and the top bath is in a rather bad shape. Not exactly the best decision I have made back then...
Hubby is waiting for weather warm enough for bathing. It is hilarious to watch him stroll along the pool, pluck weeds and do a quick check of the thermometre. Pentecost air temperature will be up to 24 degrees. Maybe. If it does not rain, but they are not sure yet... Water temperatures will be far behind- the nights are still quite cold, around twelve degrees only. I will put my toes in the water, when water temperature is up to 22 degrees. The rest of my body will follow when it is up to 25 degrees. No risk of bladder infection then, but it might be the middle of June this goal will finally be achieved!
