We are getting overrun by a cold wave. And the cold will stay. No, thanks, but, as always, my wish will be ignored. I blame number three! The moment he announces a visit we get cold and rain! The sky was only slightly clouded, when we left for the airport. At least I think so, because it was pitch-dark at 3:15! at four in the morning it was like this:

We started a tad earlier this day. I gave the deliverer of our dailies one hell of a fright, when I tore the entrance door open the moment he put the newspaper into the paper box, with no lights turned on, because I just had entered the house some seconds before. Nice to get to know new people! Our neighbour was also awake at such an early hour, probably on the way to the next mountain he intended to climb. He got picked up by a friend a few minutes later, when I had hopped back into my bed. I wished him luck, because the weather was fickle today. In the morning I had to forego a bath in the pool- no sun, not enough warmth, but a lot of wind! So I sanded the terrace table off and varnished it with teak oil. Looks better now, but next year we will need a new one, this one has once been the favourite sleeping place of Tuxedo cat, hence a lot of cat scratches on the wooden surface!
Hubby as well as I still suffer from an upset stomach. Totally not funny! So we had soup for lunch and no coffee in the afternoon, because coffee is so not my friend at the moment, even though I'd need a few cups to stay awake! But we had crumble, done for sister´s visit. My plan for yesterday had been: Do the ncrumble, have lunch, go upstairs and change into a swimsuit then wait for sister to arrive. What I did: did the crumble, had lunch, went upstairs, fell asleep until sister arrived. We had lots of fun on the terracve then, and I got to hear a rather funny but also creepy story sister´s husband told me, after I told him the story of the farmer´s rooster crowing practically all night long: Sister and her not-yet-husband had been working at a theatre in Augsburg but lived in the country at a farmhouse, a farmhouse with a nocturnal rooster. They had not been able to sleep for weeks, coming home late from rehearsals and the rooster starting the ruckus soon after. One day they decided that enough was enough, and that it was about time to bring the feathered menace away. They had a car. They had a potato bag. They knew the way to the henhouse by heart. They only had to wait for the farmer to go to bed and the rooster start crawing, then the two would get the noisemaker, put it in the bag and bring it away to a farmhouse far enough away. This one night they slept like logs. No rooster did craw, nothing disturbed their night´s rest. In the morning they knew why: during night a marten had killed all hen and the rooster, too. Problem solved, but for some time they had to buy the eggs at a nearby farm... Hubby is plotting since then- how to get a marten into our cat transport box, how to bring the animal up the hill in hope of finding the henhouse before the farmer gound him, and and and...
