Last week's weather forecast told us we'd get 30 degrees today. We did not even get half of it. But it will get warmer eventually. Up to 30 even. Maybe. Who knows. Unfortunately, the rain is supposed to be a steady companion. At the moment it´s too cold to sit and watch TV without turning the heating on. It´s 19 degrees in the livingroom, and I have not yet unpacked the sweaters for the cold season!I did a lot of unwanted and unneeded housework, like sorting out a drawer, where all the lids of our pots will rest in peace (when it´s me who does the cooking) and in piece(s), when it´s hubby´s turn. I seldom use a lid, hubby loves them, unfortunately he also is the one who kills them- ours are all made of glass!
This week we will eat out of the cellar´s fridge, which needs immediate defrosting. No cooking for the next days, we have at least four frozen meals in there! Today it was pork loin with sweet-and-sour sauce we had had a month ago, tomorrow we will have Japanese curry. My guess is that on Sunday the ice compartment will be empty, and hubby can finally activate the blow drier!
I had just dressed for clothes shopping when number one announced his coming. Shopping got postponed until tomorrow. Son can come tomorrow, too, I don´t want to shop anyway! Like all grandchildren Xaver loves to snoop in grandma´s old toys. Or better, in what´s left of his aunt´s toys. Today he was in toy heaven. His uncle has unearthed some of aunt Lil´s old Barbies. He even was allowed to take two of them home- after all he got the big Barbie house for his birthday and needs more occupiers!
Btw, in the early evening I went into the garden to look after my beans. A lot of green but next to no beans. And the ones who deigned to show up are four centimetres tiny. Before I was able to water them a rainstorm of epic proportions set in, thunder and lightning included. No way I´d fight my way to the rain barrel to fill the watering can. Poor guys will have to wait until tomorrow. Or die. I don´t care anymore...
