Took a shower, dried my hair, dressed and went out for clothes shopping- this time not to one of the local clothes stores but to the only boutique for big-sized clothing we have nearby, if nearby can be defined by 30 kilometres. It was so much fun shopping, the very young and very gay employee being a big help, bringing the items I liked to the cabin, soon exchanging them for the things he liked to see on me, which looked definitely better on me. I had a cup of coffee and a glass of champagne there and a long and funny talk with the shop owner, before I paid, let´s say, a lot but got a lot for this price. Next thing on my list- hairdresser. Quite a lot of the established ones have closed their doors, replaced now by hair salons, where women and men get ushered to different rooms. That´s not what I consider emancipation!
Back home hubby was waiting with the lunch- Japanese curry and steaks. This man simply can´t do without meat, exception: sweets like Kaiserschmarren and sweet dumplings, which are exactly the things I dislike. It´s not that I don´t like meat, on the contrary, but I prefer chicken to beef, which is husband´s favourite sort. After napping hubby drove to son, who is sick again with stomach flu- his wife will wonder where he picked it up, when the firm is on a two-weeks holiday! Hard to believe, but DiL has started her tour back home yesterday. Apparently not much during the last weeks did happen the way she wanted- must be, because she started her journey without warning, so the quarters she usually lives in were already occupied by other members of the family, and the Red Sea is a red flag to many at the moment. The bathroom in their house is far from finished, so DiL will definitely not be delighted, and I fear that the boys will get parked at our house during day. Dil will tell me that it´s best for the two. I know it´s because the workers want to work and not have an eye on the boys all the time!
Finally a day with sun today! Not that temperatures shot up, 21 is still meagre for what should be the hottest time of the year. But it will get better, they say, and I believe them. Otherwise I´d have to book a holiday in the deep South, but with my luck I´d meet an unexpected cold wave down there. Don´t laugh, I have been there already- still vividly remembering the atrocious 15 degrees we had for one week, when we were on Sicily. Same in Croatia for a whole holiday, and twenty in Tunesia- all that in the middle of August! Not to mention the abrupt end of the enormous heat wave in Australia, when we finally got there. If I count correctly about half of our holidays did not meet our expectations concerning heat. Maybe we should work for countries suffering from too much heat- give us stay for free, we bring you cold and rain...
