We did it!

 I was death warmed over all morning long. The first guests had arrived at three in the afternoon the day before. At five we were a happy bunch of nine adults and two children- naturally Cassian and Flavius. Family number two left just in time, before the big thunderstorm arrived. Since it was raining cats and dogs, we had to continue our party in the house, but lightning and thunder, hail and rain were off around eight, and we wandered back outside. Finally our neighbours got something to hear, too. That something lasted until midnight, that's when the last guests left. The four plates with sandwiches did not survive the first two hours, daughter helped me to make two more, before she left. She had early shift this morning but got brought to the airport by her colleague. Unfortunately this happens only once a month, when they are in the same shift. After cake my guests killed the cake and the cupcakes. And the Salmon chips and cheese sticks. At least hubby managed to save two slices of cake for today's afternoon coffee. I am feeling better now, but I still have a sore throat. Maybe it had been less warm after the storm than I'd thought. Who knows, but none of us had felt the need for a cardigan, and at eight in the morning we were already up to 24 degrees. Needless to say that most of the day got spent in or around the pool. There's a lot of autumn that will come upon us from Saturday on, means that the water will be too cold for bathing then. I have wanted a pool enclosure and solar panels for heating the water for many, many years, to prolong the bathing season, which is awfully short here. And hubby always wanted a new car. Guess who bought a car some time ago, while we still do not have a pool enclosure and pretty sure won't have one hardly ever, because prices for them have skyrocketed?
