We waited. And waited...
Sep. 13th, 2023 05:08 pm ...for the promised rain to come. Now at the end of summer's warmth hubby and I have been a bit lazy with watering our plants. Yesterday evening pumpkins looked a bit haggard- hubby eliminated one of the three plants. What is worst is that the fruit trees seem to suffer because of the lack of rain. But it did not rain in the evening, it did not rain during night, it only cooled down a lot. Glad that we had leftovers from the day before, because hubby and I had some sort of autumn blues and started to prepare our garden for autumn. We harvested six kilos of grapes (tjete's more to come) which I was supposed to convert to juice. Long live my Thermomix! Not that I've ever done real cooking with that thing, but it's nice for juicing, though it takes its time. Meanwhile husband removed the rest of our pumpkin plants, we cut down the honeysuckle, which had taken another crash-down during the strong winds we often have, and did a thorough tidying of the carport. Lemon trees are fertilised, as are the fruit trees and the chillies, which will wander into the conservatory in October. The wildlife camera is installed in the carport now, from where we will film the partying of martens beneath our cars. Finally, at three in the afternoon, it started to rain. Hubby and I continued with the jigsaw. While I am working by looking at the picture hubby happily puzzles along, finding next to nothing. At least he is distracted from further PC woes. Now he has time to contemplate if it would have been better to invest in a new PC instead of an e-bike. But I am pretty sure that a new PC will show up tomorrow, if the old one won't boot up soonest..
