I have done nothing of importance today, even stayed at home all day long. My back is killing me, has done so all night long. I have a sliding vertebra in my lumbar spine and should do therapeutic exercises, which I seldom practice. Always forget about it, mea culpa! So today I only baked one sort of cookies, decorated the ones I had done yesterday then crocheted a lot. I am crocheting against time- that darn throw has to be ready at Christmas! And I did crochet on the seat next to the kitchen window and watched the birds beleaguer the feeders and the pretty snow disappear. Munich, Vienna, Salzburg two degrees- neither rain nor snow in Munich, snow in Vienna, and here it was raining cats and dogs. That´s the weather we always get for Christmas, and it´s not even warm at the moment- but will be so from next week on. Christmas thaw is on the way-a meteorological singularity- even though there´s not much that can be thawed off, and it might stay until January. To be honest- I do not remember many Christmases we had snow. Some, when I was very young. This I remember, because the Krauthügel (a tiny hill practically in the midst of the town) was near my parent´s flat, and we went sledging as often as possible. My oldest son is going to be 45 soon, and I think we had snow only a few times since then. Last white Christmas here has been 18 years ago. The few snowflakes we had on Boxing Day 2014 don´t count.
Tomorrow I will do a trip to a German DIY market, to hopefully get the things not available here. The wooden planks are at number one´s house, but son and hubby cannot continue without the right profiled timber claws. I also will have to pick up nuts and the like, and more wool, of course. I think now it´s a good time to write a list, before I will drop into my bed...
