 ... because we will be off in the afternoon, returning just before daily crime time TV. It is still raining hard, and will rain even harder in the afternoon. Thank heaven that we do not have to drive far today. And thank you, roofer, that you installed the new roof hatch window soon enough, otherwise the attic would be swamped!
Two good things happened today- the insurance company will absorb the costs of the window, and we finally got the first mail in a week. And yes, dear wiseheart, your Christmas card arrived with it. Thank you so much for your Christmas greetings!
Like it or not, I have to do the last two batches of cookies- Vanillekipferl and orange cookies. Unless daughter will arrive sooner than expected and will help, I will have to do the baking contemporaneously with cooking lunch. And cope with a rather upset hubby at the same time. He is trying to switch to another cellphone company. His efforts started yesterday in the afternoon...
My throws are doing their first bouts in the washing machine. Will have to hang them up before we leave! It´s the first time that I am glad to have a big washing machine! I am also tempted to start another throw- the Celtic Mandala throw. I love Bonnie Bay crocheting on Youtube. The lady speaks so clearly that even my half-deaf ears can follow the instructions. And often enough you will hear the sound of the sea in the background, which is a great asset for one who hasn´t been at the seashore for some years now. It´s a strange feeling- I have spent a few weeks at the shore, since I was a child. And since Covid started- zero exactly! I do not think that this year will be different- with a lot of renovation work at the house to pay for and prices for travelling going through the roof we will most likely be stuck at home. And some day it will be too late for travelling at all...
