Second day into the new year, and I will have to do another trip over the border already. I am running out of wool- what I thought to be my hidden stash was an error- same colour, different quality! I think I will have to rearrange my wool boxes! At the moment I get two and a half rows out of one ball of wool. Getting less with each passing row. The correct stitch count I do not possess, because I did never purchase the written pattern, and not making the count public will force many into doing exactly this. Well, not me! Not a clue when I will do the trip, but the nice lady which often accompanies me to Germany will not be able to do so for this week. She has had a visit from her daughter and the grandchildren, who had to discontinue their trip to Dresden, because pater familias got sick. This he does quite often during a vacation- the man is a jitterbug, when he is away from home! When back, he tested positive for Covid. One of the boys is already sick, so chances are that all who met up with the family will get Covid, too. I better not meet up with this lady at the moment! Good that I am a big girl and can do the trip without backing!
Schnuckele, neighbour´s cat, is coming for a visit each morning now. Took her long enough to understand that we readily adopted her in the place of late Tuxedo. We still miss our outdoor cat so much, but Schnuckele just looks like him, only more female in some parts. There´s another cat who comes to our terrace for a treat, some petting and a rest on one of the garden chairs, but no clue where it belongs to. It´s definitely not idiot neighbour´s, because it´s a really nice cat!
Weather is on the verge of changing from warm and sunny to warm and rainy to snowing (and not warm anymore, of course), which will happen towards the end of the week. Poor kids, now that school will start again, the snow will be on its way, and they won´t be able to properly test the skis they got for Christmas! Not that all parents are keen on spending so much money on a day pass in a skiing region, when the pists are run over by tourists, and snow is scarce already! Besides, who wants to spend literally hours travelling to the ski resort because of a mega construction site on the motorway?
