When did I become so slow?
Jan. 10th, 2024 07:40 pm I started the day late, had breakfast without hubby then did my daily chore of crocheting- half an hour each morning, or the darn throw won´t get finished nowhere near. Then I began to box my Christmas decoration in earnest. It took me almost an hour to do the nine window panes on the ground floor. Okay, I did clean the inside of the windows, too. And after that, I boxed most of the baubles and the last tin figures- another half an hour added. Seems that I invest more time in thinking where and how to store than in storing itself. Not the most effective way to get work done! When my mother was my age, she was constantly off with my father- short vacations, long trips to the US, to meet our relatives, being with sister mine, to watch over her offspring. Five years retired, and feeling like an eighty year old! With hubby it´s not so much better. Contrary to me, he is running around a lot. Unfortunately, brain should be involved in daily life, and that´s when it gets complicated. He fails to remember things more often than I do. And, like many elderly men, my husband gets quite stubborn and unflexible the older he gets. A few minutes ago I had to leave my place in front of the TV, to wander upstairs and watch the end of a reportage covering New Zealand´s North Island- because husband mine wanted to watch the local news. He watches them each and every day, even though nothing of importance seems to happen in this part of the country. He has been looking at his mobile every few minutes, to have the correct time. At seven he practically froze in panic then anger, when I did not automatically switch over to his favourite station. Get stuffed, I thought, and went upstairs to the second TV in the house. Problem is that it´s way colder in the studio than downstairs. Radiator heating is on, but it´s minus ten outside... And I thought that hubby would be busy installing the brandnew all-in-one PC he got gifted by number one for doing the panels in the new cinema room in the cellar, but no...
