Hobbity woes
Feb. 15th, 2024 06:29 pm Yesterday hubby braved the Battle of the Five Armies with me. My first guess is was so, because he did not find a crime thriller on TV he had seen less than thrice. My second guess: If his wife of 45 years would watch the movie in the studio, he´d not be able to retire into bed, because, you know, no door separating the studio from the bedroom, hence full sound exposure. He did not dislike the movie, then again, he has never read the book. Only two of my children have done so, and they were definitely old enough then. Still an enigma to me why the filming of a so-called children´s book will spawn more vile creatures than the main volume. Maybe citius, altius, fortius when filming is not the best idea. Today I was searching the shelves for the Hobbit- book not found. Last time I saw it in daughter´s room, but that was before she moved to her flat. Hubby promised he´d do another search tomorrow. If the book will not show up I will order it from Amazon- quickest way to get it. Last time I ordered at Thalia and got my books ten days later. German books, not English ones! Now and then even Amazon takes longer to deliver, but you will get a warning then! I will also order the extended edition of the movie. Yesterday the end was cut awfully short. It had never felt right, when I saw the movie in the cinema, and yesterday it was even worse. But broadcasting corporations are often enough shortening movies. Looking at the runtime of the blu-ray I saw that exactly this must have happened. I so hate it when they do this!
From cool rooms to warm ones it takes only a bit of sunshine, sunshine we had aplenty today. Instead of a cold front we got a lot of warmth, so that windows and doors stayed open, until the sun disappeared behind the hills. Schnucki and Schnuckele had a field day, wandering in and out of the house, as if they´d live with us. They are still shy, when someone will walk around, but curiosity wins!
Number four had postponed his visit again- yesterday he wrote that he´d come today. We haven´t heard from him since. If he needs pickup at the trainstation he can order Paxi (papa taxi). Mum will be off to bed early- Snape was here again last night and drove her up the pole!
PS: Hubby just told me that son will arrive at the train station at nine thirty. Have fun driving, hubby dearest!
