Things always seem to happen when you least expect them. Yesterday evening, when I was back from visiting a neighbour, where I finally got to eat salmon sandwiches again (hers are the best), hubby and I decided that it might be a good idea to do a trip to our favourite garden centre in Germany, to buy another fruit tree. When I came down for breakfast hubby told me that we were to have Flavius from morning on and Cassian after kindergarten. Three calls on my mobile at seven in the morning, two at hubby's, and the ringing of the land line I heard around seven had been ours, not the neighbour's. DiL must be very convincing- when mummy has a cold and does not feel well she always needs someone to take care of her boys. Instead of touring hubby picked the first boy up and brought the missing ingredients for lunch- bell peppers and scallions. I intended to do chicken sweet and sour. Our pineapple was on the verge of giving out. The boys were good, as always. Played, ate their lunch, did rest after lunch- only that Flavius went from zero sneezing and coughing to a full-blown cold in the space of two hours. Now I wonder if he has already passed his germs on us. Because I absolutely do not want to have a cold now that Easter is near. In two weeks it´s Good Friday, and our house will be full of guests. Ordinary sniffles will last for almost two weeks. Combined with a solid cough it will take even longer thanks to my lung function being a fickle one...
BTW: Family number three is ill, too. Eye infection, cold, ear inflammation... I really wonder if they also have other hobbies than being sick! Good that at least those four live 300 kilometres apart from us, or I´d be a 24/7 nurse all year long!
