Once, in the tradition of the Celts, my friends and I celebrated Beltane, though mixed up with the apparition of medieval witches. Unfortunately the celebrations ended, when a friend´s father died this night. Since then we have never again met around a Beltane fire, which is kind of sad, even though today´s climate policy is already prohibiting fires of any kind. But our Beltane tradition has been a nice counter action to idiot neighbour´s hissing of the First of May- banner (one day early) and the drunkards in his garden (one day early, too, with a repeat the next day). Today I had a long chat with some of the forementioned friends and found out that they have the same familiar problems as we have- the watching over their grandchildren. Half of them is on watch duty today- it would have been hard to have a get-together with them! Well, times have indeed been changing...
Hubby picked Cassian up from kindergarten and brought him to our house for a quick lunch and one episode of Lego Ninjago, brfore they were off to the last swimming lesson. But instead of bringing the boy home to his mother he took him back to our house, where he will stay, until his parents will pick him up at 7:30. Since my car is still crammed with DiL´s paintings and other things, I could not even do my planned trip to the shopping mall. So much about "I will do the job tomorrow, because I have to be at their house anyways". Ha, I so should have known that it would come to this!
BTW, when Cassian sat down at the dining table, he noticed the fine film of sand. We cleaned the table (again) and I had to explain where from the sand camw and why the sand landed up here. Not an easy undertaking with a not yet five year old! Now he wants to do a trip to the Sahara- seems a proper playground for children to him!
