Hubby and daughter did an early tour to Aldi this morning for Japanese noodles, miso and spiced coconut milk, after that I joined them and we picked grandsons up at their home. Smyths Toys shopping got done in record time- there´s only one toy Cassian loves, and it comes in tiny pieces you have to put together. Hubby brought us to Ikea for early lunch. The boys both love those tiny meatballs, while I hate them. I ordered coffee and Apfelstrudel instead. Now guess who ate my Apfelstrudel! Both boys did their after-lunch nap in the car, because hubby insisted on bringing daughter to her flat- not such a good idea on a long weekend! Plenty of jam , so plenty of time for the nap. When back home, both boys were wide awake again.
But having the boys in the house means having some troubles the older they get. It is not that they will be rowdy or disobedient, but they are nosy the way children are and love to go through my things, at least, the interesting ones. So it´s either watch their every step or find them playing with some objects they must definitely have found in one of my drawers. Today hubby had a talk with them, because he had enough of running up and down in search of the two. Half an hour later I heard an ominous clicking noise then nothing. It is never a good sign when children seem to have fallen off the plate. I put away my coffee, went to investigate and found my suspicions confirmed- the door to the guestroom was locked up, the boys were in doing whatever they wanted to do, and when I ordered Cassian to unlock, he was not able to. Hubby told him to open the window and came in from the outside. The key got confiscated as were the Elsa and Snape Funko Pop figurines from the hex department. The boys had been in the cabinet providing themselves with new playing material. Poor hubby, bad enough that his back is killing him at the moment, now he has to crawl over the cover panel into the guestroom to free his grandsons! And lucky me that the boys did not spot the Mother´s Day present daughter bought me- the wand is mine, and mine alone!
