It gets boring

 Weather is always fine in the morning at the moment. Alas, I am never fine then but cranky. So it took me a while to get myself going, two cups of strong, dark coffee, a roll and definitely no hubby involved. Then housework (I did sort my wardrobe) then cooking, even though I have not cooked that much the last days, because husband mine is back-to-mama´s-cooking again. Mama´s cooking was better than my mother´s but definitely not remarkable- lots of potatoes and noodles, vegetables from the garden, and the meat she bought was horrible. Even if the taste was acceptable, who needs gristles and tendons on the plate! Yuck! But the older my husband gets the less tolerable he is- it is essential that it tastes the way he remembers, which is bland and has the obligatory four ingredients salt, pepper, garlic and paprika powder. So when he wants what mama´s cooked, he can do it himself. He must know how those meals are getting done, I haven´t been there- fortunately! I was a daddy´s girl, but the older I get the more I begin to understand my mother, when she bemoaned her husband´s obstinacy. Apparently every man seventyish undergoes this stage- now I wonder how long this will last...
Back to weather: I had a short after-lunch nap then dressed for doing my chores: bank, pharmacy, supermarket- all done. No KIK, because I already noticed the dark clouds in the sky. I made it back in time (in my car), hubby hard on my heels (on his bike), before the first of three thunderstorms rolled in. We even managed to bring the laundry from tne terrace into the livingroom, before the first thundershower started to pour down. Darn, it´s not even six thirty and the lights are on, because it is so dark outside. shouldn´t we have glorious long days now? In less than a month it´s summer solstice, and the days will get shorter again!
