Dreaming again
May. 24th, 2024 03:39 pm This night I was happily dreaming along- at least as happy as one can dream, when the bedroom is too warm and one has woken too often bathed in sweat- when all of a sudden I heard the sound of a phone bleeping in the dream. A phone did not make any sense in my dream, so I struggled with waking up and detected the reason of the bleeping, which was hubby. Yay, I had found the caller, or more precisely, I found the phone, but no clue who was on the other side of the apparatus. I switched from dreaming to reading for a while but fortunately got tired again, and dreaming continued. This time I ended up with Cassian's favourite stuffed toy Hasi, the one he needs for a good sleep, only this one was in XXXXXL, one hysteric Severus Snape laying flat at its feet. Oh, I saw late Alan Rickman´s eyes wide with horror at the prospect of getting bitten to death by a giant, light blue stuffed rabbit. At least better than getting killed by a giant snake, I´d say! Still not getting over the sad truth that the author killed this impressive character off this way...
Today´s news concerning weather is that we had the first thunderstorm before lunch. Even though we got told that there wouldn´t be rain today. Ha! Double ha! Twice hubby and I tried to be motivated enough to get into the car and do the drive beyond the border for German Lidl, which- surprise, surprise- offers groceries cheaper than in Austria. The moment we were ready to leave, another thunderstorm set in, so we stayed at home- there´s plenty of housework that needs to be tackled anyway. Hubby and I are in the process of getting the guestrooms ready (one is technically number four´s old room, but he won´t be here for the next weeks). Family number three will be at our house next week. We have to be extra careful, since our youngest grandchild has a strong allergy to house dust mites, rather like I had when young. After all this time and two or three attempts at desensitisation it´s gotten better. I feel with the young man- I always had panic attacks in addition to the asthma, when I was in a room with those mites. Started when I was about the age of four, during a visit at some distant relative of my father. As always, my mother did nothing about it, until I almost collapsed during a trip to the Netherlands eight year´s later, when I had to spend the night in a small, mite infested tent with my sister. That´s when I finally got treatment, though it took a lot of years and some spectacular trips to the hospital, until they got the desensitisation working. Of course, it´s easier these days, medical treatment has advanced...
The sad thing I found out today was that I had killed the baby chillis in the conservatory by forgetting to water them- hubby has put a seperate table foe the jigsaw into the conservatory, directly in front of the tiny plants, so that the view was blocked. And what I do not see I will not water. Blimey!
