First swim of the year starring husband mine

 I decided to defer being tired and useless until afternoon, did my daily chores in record time then jumped into my car for a quick tour beyond the border to my favourite shopping centre. Son has given me a list of items he wants, because, you know, prices aren´t as high in Germany as on our side of the border. I did the trip without friends this time- did not want to end up in a coffee shop doing boring gossiping and coming home late. That´s what I do most time, but not today! Weather is not to my liking- warm and humid. I was sweat-covered the moment I got out of the car. It did not get better in the shops. Most of them are not air-conditioned. One will never feel like a fish finger just out of the freezer, the way one will feel in shops at the other side of the ocean. But one will sweat a lot during shopping, because it is always too warm inside! I made it out and back home in record time, not having forgotten a thing on the shopping list. Alas, I have to admit that one or two essentials did not even make it onto the list, but sod that, there´s always the possibility that there will be a repeat soon! I came back early indeed, and hubby had just begun struggling with lunch. As if warming up was that hard! I skipped lunch and did my daily nap instead, and this time I had a real one, even missed Schnuckele doing a cat concert in front of the teraace door. Hubby did not let her in, because she always walks straight to the bedroom to join me with napping- on husband´s pillow. Dangerous territory, husband does not like cats as much as I do!
Hubby dared this year´s first swim- water temperature is not even twenty degrees at the moment. No wonder, those last days have been too cool and too wet, as were the nights. But my husband dutifully cleaned the pool of leaves and other debris then jumped into the cool water. Maybe he´d thought that since he had a cold already it could not get worse. Well, that was before he started coughing. I am so close to giving him a sending-off to the guest bedroom for the next days. I know that summers are short here because of those darn hills and mountains near our house, and that it´s reaally hard to wait so long for a swim! Then again, we have had years were we began to use the pool at the beginning of May and ended with late September. Now it´s June already, and we have never been in the water that late, though we both love swimming very much...
