Retreating heat
Jun. 20th, 2024 07:51 pm While the eastern part of the country still is far over thirty degrees, the other part was down to 27 degrees again- acceptable for summer. Poor hubby can't sleep when it´s so hot, but I sleep like a log. No way I will put the aircon on during night and catch another cold, because it´s blowing straight onto my half of the bed! Funny that hubby´s the one who strives for going to Greece, where it is hotter than here!
Not much frolicking in the pool got done in the afternoon- no sun, only clouds, and we could watch the next thunderstorm forming. It really did not take that long, and at five in the afternoon here it was. One day those strong winds coming with the thunderstorms will kill my trumpet tree, as those have killed not so Tiny Tim. I asked hubby to prop the tree up, and he did, only that he propped the wrong one up- not that the apple tree isn´t delighted about getting some help against the winds! I really, really should buy me a loud-hailer for oral communication with husband mine!
BTW: No cooking got done today, we had leftover-soup aplenty, because hubby "found" the last of our pumpkins in the cellar. My question is- where has he been hiding it??? That thing was huge for a hokkaido pumpkin! We had soup yesterday, with bacon and bread cubes, gave daughter some for dinner, another portion is in the freezer, the rest got eaten with Frankfurter today. So glad that husband forgot to sow pumpkin seed this year, though I highly suspect that the two pumpkin seeds which I found on the outdoor table can be found in the big pot with soil now, which miraculously appeared next to the carport, which in our case is a trailer port. One day in the near future I will sell that darn thing (the trailer, of course)!
Tomorrow will be another great battle day- DiL has a meeting concerning another exhibition at family number two´s house and has chucked son and offspring out. So son will come for lunch and stay with us until evening. He will definitely not leave the boys for a sleepover- daughter will stay at our house, because she has another early morning shift and needs mama-taxi! That means alarm calls and a lot of running back and forth at three in the morning!
