It gets even better!

 The cats owner snowed into our house in the early evening, vino frizzante at hand. All that on a day when I was not allowed to drink alcohol. She persuaded me that a tiny glass did not render me unfit to drive, daughter had one, too. The rest of the bottle went to the cat owner. While we were chatting, which took far too much time and an additional can of alcohol-free radler for both daughter and me, the cat showed up on our terrace. Daughter managed to close the door in time, before cat brought her next prey- another bird, which Schnuckele carefully deposited at the threshold. I went to bed at ten, just when son had finally arrived- the train was behind schedule, as is often the case. So I missed Schnuckele depositing a mouse and something unidentifiable on the doormat in front of the terrace door. Hubby put all in the organic waste bin. At three in the morning, when I had the first cup of coffee of the day, cat sat loudly meowing on the sill in front of the kitchen window. Understandable, after the huge thunderstorm it had never stopped raining, and she wanted in. I came back from my tour at four- now I had another mouse on the doormat. Hubby´s goal of the day- wash said doormat. Looked as if stemming from a slaughterhouse! Lady cat, small and delicate as she looks, is a monster! A monster that brings me presents she hunts down. Oh dear!
Son did today´s cooking with me- as I had feared, none of the meat loaf made it into today. We had Tom Kha Gai with rice noodles- only with noodles the soup will count as a proper lunch, and even more so, since hubby as well as I do dinner cancelling regularly.
Weather is strange this summer- we had the first thunderstorm of the day in the late morning, now, in the late afternoon, sun is back, but it is 23 degrees only. Next thunderstorm is said to arrive around nine in the evening, bringing even more rain. People all around are busy with pumping water out of their pool and have a quick swim, before next thunderstorm arrives. Since lightning has once shredded a pool in the vicinity, no one is stupid enough to be near the water during a thunderstorm. Not even idiot neighbour, and that`s saying a lot!
