Son arrived at ten in the morning, grandchildren in tow. When they left at five in the afternoon I was dead on my feet. Oscar is not fond of water save the one in his drinking glass. Xaver loves to swim and play in any water offered to him. Our number one is his best buddy when it comes to water fights and the like. But our son was to stay outside the pool- he has hurt his leg by running into the sharp edge of a car door. He´s been professionally bandaged by his wife but must stay off the water for some time. Since hubby was more interested in reading than frolicking in the pool it had been me who had to entertain grandson number two. Never got so much water in my face and ears before. Never had to fight for my Slytherin pool noodle so often. But the boy can now dive from one end of the pool to the other. He´s on the way to do a header (thanks to a YT short, which shows how Chinese kids learn to do one). It´s only that being in the water so much sucks quite a lot. My skin is itching. My hair is dull and dry. Nails are splintering again. And I am tired, bone-tired. Not that I have done much today. Son did the cooking. Hubby brought out all swimming utensils. My job was to entertain Xaver and put Shrivel-Vic and the pool noodles into the garage after closing the pool up- hubby was off to bring in and feed son´s cats, and a thunderstorm was rolling in. Ah- I did harvest two thirds of the cornelian cherries. It´s a small tree which needs proper pruning next spring after lowering, but I harvested almost two kilos, and more is to follow. Hooray, hubby can do more jam then! Now I am recuperating on the bed. It´s hot in the bedroom- 28 degrees. Hubby will have a fit if I won´t turn the aircon on....
