Perfect day...
Aug. 10th, 2024 06:13 pm ...for doing nothing of importance, apart from cooking and baking.
I had a spa day at home with husband out of the house. He did cast concrete at son's, I had an aroma shower, tried out the new body oil, did my nails in dark red- usually hate to do this, but too much of salty pool water makes them crumble away.
I am finally through with what husband evacuated from son's fridge and garden. The last blackberries we had plucked- we won't do anymore, that might get a bloody job, since DiL does not cut back the twines- went into the banana bread I had to do for sis' visit tomorrow. Her appearance in our house seems to become a weekly happening. Not so happy about it. I love my personal freedom, at least during times I am relatively grandchildren-free.
Hubby is devastated- it's the third dodgy suduko in a row I finished way faster than he did. Even had to show him where he missed a combination- this did definitely not sit well with him, because he's the self-proclaimed sudoku master in this house!
Daughter mine will show up in the evening- early shift tomorrow! Blessedly she has less of those this month. Unfortunately two of them will be one day before and on my birthday itself, and I am the taxi. Means that I might be tired. Will give me a valid reason to chuck guests out earlier than they want! Don't need another emergency case, when an oldie thinks she's back to thirty and jumps down the stairs leading from the terrace to the garden (two steps exactly) and breaks her leg!
It's been fairly quiet in the gardens around today- either people are on holiday or have given up on this year's sorry excuse of a summer. It's idiot family alone who's wreaking havoc. And even they must have passed grand childrens on to the other set of grandparents! Could be a nice catching up on sleep on the shady terrace tomorrow morning- my hope is that husband mine won't fetch the lawnmower, to liven up what he thinks a boring Sunday!
