Ao3 was ill!
Sep. 3rd, 2024 07:51 pm This night's routine included another visit to the Ao3 website around three in the morning, when I was unable to sleep (fairly usual for me at this time)- only that the site was not working at all. Next try at five- still not working. Not working at ten in the morning also. It was definitely no maintenance work going on, because there'd have been an announcement. Ao3 makes you aware, if they'll be off for some hours. Good grieve, but having to go back to Fanfiction Net seemed too depressing- now I had to do housework instead:)) At midday the site reappeared- got hacked maybe, because now they are verifying that you are no bot...
Mosquitos did eat me last night. Those beasts are everywhere now- inside and outside the house, and they're getting bolder, attacking all around the clock! Hubby and I have now fly swats at hand to shoo them off. At least we got spared another family gathering today and were able to have a quiet afternoon with bathing and reading and lots of coffee and cake! Hubby did fry more chicken, we still had lemon rice (my favourite this summer), so all was good. Now I only have to think of a good excuse for tomorrow, when hubby and Oscar will be off to Munich for a visit to the Deutsches Museum. I am pretty sure that an attack will come from family two and what's left of family one- tomorrow is supposedly the last day with quite warm temperatures, just made for a last frolicking in our pool. And me doing lunch. Am I selfish for wanting to frolick all alone, without getting drowned every five minutes?
Number one had hinted that he had wanted to go to Munich with Oscar, too, but for another reason- to visit the Harry Potter exhibition, which will close on Thursday this week. But Oscar wanted to see the movies first- makes sense! He has read books one to three (bad idea, the German translation is horrible) and can have the missi,ng books, if he is able to relocate them on our book shelves. Not an easy task when books are stapled in double rows... I think I woke a monster when I told the boy of the HP world in London. I fear a family trip is in order. Aunt Lil, who came for mama taxi to the airport, already shows interest in joining Oscar and me!
In the late afternoon we had one of those fabulous thunderstorms that won´t show up on the radar until it´s too late. Hubby barely managed to pick daughter up at the bus stop, before all hell was let loose- rain (so hard that I was barely able to see the neighbouring houses) mixed with hail and lots of lightning. At seven the show was over and temperatures were under twenty again- so we will have a pleasant night, at least until my alarm will go off at three in the morning!
