Fabulous day!
Sep. 4th, 2024 06:39 pm Got up at three in the morning, drove daughter to the airport while verbally improving her vegetarian curry recipe (not that I´d ever try one with broccoli in it) and went back to bed at 4:15. Hubby got up at six and did not forget to turn off his alarm this time, which was set to 6:30. Usually he forgets nine times out of ten, which is very annoying. Not this time! Yet I got up at seven, after I had heard husband´s car drive off, made my breakfast- scrambled eggs, ham and laugenstangerl plus a double coffee noir- then put a movie into the player and half watched, half napped until ten. After all the sleepless nights I really have needed this!
On the terrace I found the obligate mouse of the day, put it into the organic waste bin, threw the half-dead birthday bouquet on top of the animal, washed the bloodied doormat then watered all the flowers and vegetables. You know that autumn is here when those darn spider webs seem to multiply. Good thing is that the excess of dew makes them clearly visible now, so that you won't run into them! God, the silence was so beautiful, when I opened the pool and had a first swim! Even the daily chores in the household got quickly but efficiently done on the side, and in record time at that! I made myself a fried cheese sandwich for lunch. If hubby is hungry when back home he can have one, too. Definitely no other cooking today!
In the afternoon I tried to call my dentist, but he won't be back from vacation until the tenth- and he is off for quite some time already. I better eat only soft things for the next week (shredded a molar, which does not hurt at all) and take aspirin, when my crowned tooth will act up again. Honestly, this tooth is a pain in the neck for decades now, in the true sense of the word. But it got worse during the last weeks...
At five I closed the pool- it's a thermic foil, and I sincerely hope that no one did watch me hopping in the water, to get the pool covered. Water in the pool is so high and I am so short that I have to hop and drag and hop again to get this chore done without drowning myself! Tomorrow will be the last moderately hot day before the big fall of temperatures, so Cassian and Xaver might come over. They´ve earned it by leaving me alone today...
